Sensitive personal information

• 3rd party mailings - We may periodically send your mailing address and email to third-party vendors who work on our behalf to send you relevant AMT information.
• We may periodically send alerts pertaining to your certification or membership status using the email address which you have provided.
• We may periodically send alerts concerning federal or state legislation affecting your professional interests using the email address which you have provided.
• We may periodically send alerts pertaining to your local state society using the email address which you have provided.
• We may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
• From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes.
• We also use information to administer, maintain, and improve our website and services; to provide customer service; to troubleshoot; to help keep our website and systems secure; and to comply with applicable law and enforce our policies

How we share information

• We will not sell your personal information

  • with third-party vendors who work on our behalf to provide services (for example, exam services, LMS providers, digital badging providers, online chat/support tools, email delivery and mailing vendors, website hosting, analytics providers, and payment processors);
  • if we are required by law to use or disclose your personal data, e.g., by lawfully issued subpoena or court order;
  • to protect the rights, property, or safety of AMT, our applicants/certificants/members, or others (including fraud prevention and security purposes); and/or
  • in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets). When we share information with vendors that process personal information on our behalf, we require them to protect it and use it only for the services they provide to AMT.

Legal basis for collecting and processing personal data

AMT's legal basis for collecting and using the personal data described in this Policy depends on the personal data we collect and the specific context in which we collect the information, and may include one or more of the following bases:

• AMT needs to perform a contract with you, including but not limited to
  • Processing an application for certification or recertification;
  • Making an online sale of educational materials or products (including REACH certificates), logo items, or other products or services offered by AMT;
• You have given AMT permission to do so;
• AMT is required by law to use or disclose your personal data, e.g., by lawfully issued subpoena or court order; and/or
• Processing your personal data is in AMT’s legitimate and lawful interests.

AMT is based in the United States, and we and our service providers may process and store personal information in the United States and other countries where we or our vendors operate. Third party cookies

AMT uses services offered by Google and Google Analytics to collect, aggregate and analyze data in order to better understand how the site is used. Additionally, you have the option to opt-out of Google Analytics through this link: Google Analytics Opt-out. AMT uses these cookies to collect anonymous and aggregated data for a limited time. The data is used, for example, to monitor and analyze site use, improve its functions and more accurately choose content and graphic design, in order to meet visitors' expectations.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyze data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

If you use the GPC, we will process your request for your browser, but it will not apply outside of that browser to your device. Children's Privacy

AMT’s services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it consistent with applicable law. We do not sell your personal information. We may share personal information with service providers and others as described above under “How we share information,” or if required by law.  We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen.

Data rights and choices (U.S. and EU/EEA)

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have certain statutory data protection rights regarding your personal information. These rights may be subject to exceptions and limitations under applicable law.
